New design programme for stamps on goods starts in 2007

On 1.11.2005 the local tax authorities and the national Customs and Tax authorities were united under the simple name of "Skat" (Tax). A new logo, the royal crown in a circle, was designed for the new authority, and now it is present on the stamps for spirits and prevention chemicals (from 1.7.2007), and on the stamps for tobacco and cigarette paper (from 1.10.2007). The new stamps are equipped with a brand new design showing the new logo of "Skat". The new design (type VI) is in yellowish colors and with micro print to prevent from fraud, and the paper has water mark and colored fibers, just like the old type V banderoles.

The introduction of type VI stamps is not associated with any changes of the taxation. Thus, the stamps for cigarettes (code 2), as well as the stamps for pipe tobacco and fine cut tobacco (code 8), have the same tax identification codes as the old stamps. Examples of the new stamps for theese goods are shown above. They are referred to as series 48 for cigarettes, series 35 for pipe tobacco, and series 28 for fine cut tobacco. For cigarette paper, the new series is number 17.
