The new orange yellow design introduced for stamps 1999-2001

The stamps with the old design - characterized by gray and light blue colors and the logo of three lions on a diamond - are now out of production. The stamps with the new design are more resistant to counterfeits, partly because it is difficult to copy the orange yellow color, partly because of the micro print used on the stamps. The use of paper with watermark (wavy lines) and red security fibers continues as before. The new logo is a black crown on an orange yellow/white diamond. The micro print on the stamps contains the words "Told Skat", meaning the National Customs and Tax Authorities (name in short form in Danish: "Told*Skat").

For collectors the stamps with the new design will here be classified as type V ("Told*Skat" orange yellow type), whereas the stamps of the old design are classified as type IV ("Told*Skat" 3 lions type).

Round wine stamps (wafers):
Stamps for 3 tax classes of wine exist. The new orange yellow type was introduced from 11 January 1999 when out of stock of old type. Delivery of old type finally stopped on 31 December 1999. The size is unchanged (diameter 22 mm).

Price control stamps for prevention chemicals:
Stamps for 2 tax classes, A and B, exist. The design of the price control stamps was revised in 1999, starting with the B-stamps in March, 1999, and later the same year the printing of the new A-stamps began. The size is unchanged (diameter 22 mm).

Wine and spirits, band shaped stamps (banderoles):
Stamps for 3 tax classes of wine exist, whereas only one tax class is used for spirits. The new orange yellow type was introduced from mid February, 2000, when out of stock of old type. Delivery of the old type ended on 1 April 2000.

Cigarettes, pipe tobacco, fine cut tobacco and cigaret paper:
The new orange yellow type was introduced on 1 April 2001. Delivery of the old type ended on 1 May 2001. The stamps for cigarettes are found in 3 sizes, whereas the stamps for pipe tobacco and fine cut tobacco are all of the same size. Stamps (banderoles) for cigarette paper are all band shaped and of the same length, however, the companies are allowed to shorten the bands.
